🌿 Labrador Extra 50 EC 1L (Chizalofop) – selective grass herbicide
Labrador Extra 50 EC is a selective post-emergence herbicide (EC) for controlling monocotyledonous weeds in vegetable, fruit, and arable crops. Developed by Ciech Sarzyna, specially for controlling couch grass in beets as well as blackgrass and ryegrass in winter oilseed rape; additionally broadly usable in numerous small-scale crops (strawberry, carrot, onion, bush bean, cabbage, etc.).
🌱 Why Labrador Extra?
✅ Post-emergence application – flexible timing from early stages
✅ Highly effective against grasses: millet, wild oat, annual meadow grass, volunteer cereals, blackgrass, couch grass
✅ Broad crop approval: winter oilseed rape, sugar beet (production areas), potato + many small crops
✅ Flexible dosing – adaptable to weed type/development (economical)
✅ EC formulation – easy dosing and mixing
⚗️ Active ingredient & uptake
✅ Chizalofop-P-ethyl – 50 g/L (5.42 %)
✅ Systemic effect: uptake via leaves, transport to rhizomes/runners, growth stop → yellowing → dying off
🧪 Effect & Symptoms
✅ First symptoms after ~7 days, full effect after 2–3 weeks (weather dependent)
✅ Cool weather slows the effect, without reducing final efficacy
✅ Rain ≥ 3 h after application no effect on efficacy
💧 Application – General
✅ Spraying technique: field sprayer, medium droplet size, 200–300 L/ha (some small crops 200–400 L/ha)
✅ Optimal sensitivity: annual grasses from 2-leaf to tillering start, couch grass at stage 4–6 leaves
