🌾 Pontos (Flufenacet, Picolinafen) – Weedkiller for Winter Grain
Pontos is a weedkiller from BASF in the form of a suspension concentrate (SC) for pre-emergence and post-emergence treatment. It controls both monocotyledonous and dicotyledonous weeds in winter wheat, winter triticale, winter barley, and winter rye.

🧪 Mode of Action (brief)
✅ Uptake through roots and above-ground plant parts
✅ Growth stop, followed by discoloration and death of weeds
✅ Best effect at the 2–3 leaf stage of the weeds
✅ Dryness can reduce the pre-emergence effect

💧 Application & Dosage
✅ Crops: Winter wheat, winter triticale, winter barley, winter rye
✅ Time window: Autumn, BBCH 00–29 (from sowing to end of tillering)
✅ Application rate: 0.5–1.0 L/ha (max. 1.0 L/ha)
✅ Technique: Field sprayer; even application; no incorporation
⚠️ Practical Notes
✅ Adjust dose according to soil type and weed infestation (higher on heavy/organic-rich soils)
✅ Do not apply on light, sandy, stony or flooded soils
✅ Cover seed ≥ 2.5 cm, avoid heavy rain/frost periods
✅ Avoid drift and double overlaps
